Session titles: 1) Organic and plant-based: a new food system in Europe. 2) Consumer behaviour in the global cosmetics market
Session descriptions:
1) After a period of growth in popularity, presence and market value, both plant-based alternatives and organic products are facing new challenges. Rising prices caused by inflation have forced consumers to trade down to cheaper alternatives in many cases. Nonetheless, health and sustainability concerns remain top of mind for consumers and consumption of products of animal origin continues to decline. This presentation looks at the complex relationship between plant-based and organic products, how both are transforming the food system across Europe, and what that means for future growth.
2) This presentation explores habits and behaviours that reflect consumers’ beliefs and values, linking behavioural trends with purchase and consumption of cosmetics globally.
It draws together insights from across different consumer surveys and provides analysis on key trends. It also connects survey insights with Euromonitor’s megatrends, including case studies highlighting how companies are responding to changing attitudes and expectations towards beauty and personal care products.
